What happens in Vegas…comes to KARATS!

KARATS owner Akshay Andy Anand recently attended the premier event in the jewelry industry:  the annual JCK International Jewelry Show in Las Vegas, NV. The place: Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino.  The setup: imagine a convention center, the size of a shopping mall, three stories high, filled with over 20,000 people.  Now imagine the ENTIRE place filled with beautiful, unique and stunning jewelry!

The showplace itself was divided into four main sections. The Luxury section was designed for retailers and admission was by invitation only.  KARATS was proud to have been one of the retailers selected to shop the Luxury section.  In another area of the showplace, space was given to display jewelry and emerging trends from around the world.  Akshay enjoyed browsing the India Pavilion, Turkish Pavilion and the China pavilion looking for new trends and designs to bring to Kansas City.

As a result of the trip to Vegas, two fabulous designers will now be represented at KARATS!  We are pleased to be an authorized dealer for Scott Kay Fine Fashion Jewelry.  For over 25 years, Scott Kay has designed cutting edge jewelry for both sexes.  Of note are his unconventional designs in the men’s wedding band category; he is especially skilled at using unique metals to enhance his designs. We had the opportunity to check out some emerging trends in the industry, and we kept seeing proof that yellow gold is making a comeback!  Two-tone jewelry is becoming increasingly popular, combining white gold, rose gold and yellow gold in various combinations.

Also– silver is the new gold as gold continues to rise in price and value each day.  We looked at some fantastic sterling silver collections and have collaborated with Pandora to bring stunning silver designs to our customers. KARATS is also pleased to introduce Scott Kay silver designs for fashion jewelry in the upcoming months.
