Congratulations to Akshay Andy Anand on his amazing run at LLS Man of the Year!

Karats Jewelers proudly congratulates owner and President, Akshay Andy Anand, on his recent candidacy for Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Man of the Year.  The ten-week campaign ended May 19, 2011, with a Grand Finale celebration dinner and auction at Harrah’s Kansas City, MO.  The celebration was attended by nearly 1000 family members, friends and supporters of the 23 candidates.Drawing upon a fierce determination and desire to make a difference, Akshay raised approximately $25000 for the cause.  His efforts earned him the title of “runner up” as he finished second in fundraising!  Congratulations, Akshay, on your amazing accomplishment.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s “Man & Woman of the Year” titles by raising funds for blood cancer research. The candidates compete in honor of children who are local blood cancer survivors, the Boy & Girl of the Year. Every dollar counts as one vote, and the titles are awarded to the man and woman with the most votes at the end of ten weeks; the top local fundraisers in the country win the national titles.

Man & Woman candidates are goal-oriented and compassionate. Their relentless efforts are focused on making life better for hundreds of thousands of patients battling blood cancers: leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma.
